Amazing, thick, lusciously flowing brown hair, a perfect smile that lights up the room, gorgeous green eyes, and a laugh that was absolutely music to my ears… just stunning.
The one you’d see in movies with everything slowing down around her…
Only at this party, the slow-motion around her was very real.
I gathered up the courage to talk to her friend beside her, in hopes that this perfect girl would somehow partake in our conversation…
As I started walking over to them I could feel myself getting more and more tense, the closer I got.
Thoughts started racing in my head. "What should I say? Will she like me? Does this shirt make me look fat?"
… and when I had finally made my way over to talk to her, I barely managed to stammer, “your shoes are untied”…
...She was in heels.
She looked at me and said, “How old are you?” Super sarcastically…
...“You know what, don’t even bother!”
And while it WAS a stupid opening line, the first thought that popped into my head was that it did give me a brief window to talk to her drop-dead gorgeous friend…
We looked at each other for a split second and before I could even open my mouth, I completely froze…
She was stunning in every sense of the word. I literally felt a shock going through my entire body, unable to move.
What felt like an eternity, was probably only a few moments, but it was what happened next that stuck with me for the longest time…
She straight-up laughed in my face and walked away…
And while this story could’ve been way worse, this brief interaction left such an emasculating taste in my mouth...
I felt embarrassed, ashamed, powerless, sad, and damn near pathetic, all at the same time.
I was defeated. I took rejection way too close to heart, and worst of all…
...was the reminder and constant heckling from my friends who saw the whole thing and wouldn’t let it go for weeks.
We looked at each other for a split second and before I could even open my mouth, I completely froze…
She was stunning in every sense of the word. I literally felt a shock going through my entire body, unable to move.

It’s like their defense mechanism to weed out certain guys immediately.
